Amy Adams in full Amy Lou Adams (born 20 August 1974, Aviano Italy) American actress, most well-known for her critically acclaimed portrayals of naive and charming characters. Adams was the youngest of seven children who lived as a child in Castle Rock, Colorado. Her birth was during the time that her father was employed by the U.S. Military in Italy. Around the middle of 1990, she began singing and dancing professionally at the Boulder Dinner Theatre in Colorado and Country Dinner Playhouse. She then moved to Minnesota and was cast in Drop Dead Gorgeous, a mock documentary film about beauty contests. In Los Angeles, she pursued an acting career after her film debut in which she played a dizzy but pleasant contestant. Her husband was the actor Tony Curtis from June 1951 until September 1962, and was the mother of Kelly Curtis and Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh was spotted via actress Norma Shearer Leigh signed a deal with MGM to start her career as a film actress at the end of her 1940s. The next decade saw Leigh was in a variety of well-known films, such as Alfred Hitchcock Psycho (1960) or Living It Up (a Martin Lewis film made in 1954).
