Amy Adams in full Amy Lou Adams (born August 20 1974 Aviano Italy) American actress, particularly acclaimed for her critically acclaimed portrayals of naive and charming characters. Adams was raised in Italy while her father served in the U.S. military and she was raised living in Castle Rock Colorado as one of seven kids. Adams began performing and dancing professionally at the end of the 90s. She was part of Boulder Dinner Theatre, and after that, in the Country Dinner Playhouse. Following her move to Minnesota, she took part in a mock documentary film about beauty contests called Drop Dead Gorgeous (1998). The actress moved to Los Angeles after making her debut as a good-natured but naive contestant. Her husband was the actor Tony Curtis from June 1951 from September 1962 to June 1951 and is the maternal grandmother of Kelly Curtis and Jamie Lee Curtis. She was discovered by the actress Norma Shearer Leigh secured a deal with MGM and began her film career during the mid- to late 1940s. In the decade that followed, she appeared in many popular films including Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (1960) as well as Living It Up by Martin & Lewis (a 1953 film).
