Her career in journalism began with Myrtle Beach South Carolina as an anchor and reporter for news with WPDE-TV. Then she became an anchor and morning reporter at WCBD TV. The work of O'Dell on the streets of Charleston about the police's leniency toward DUI cases has led to an investigation by the State Law Enforcement Division investigating the DUI instances. In the year 2000, Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell with an award for the Best Report of the year Award for the entire South Carolina media. O'Dell has worked at Charleston reporting and co-anchor at NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV station before moving to Access Hollywood where she is now a correspondent and co-anchor during weekends. O'Dell, in addition to being the anchor of Access Hollywood, also appears on NBC News Today as well Dateline NBC. She has reported on the events such as The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys The Golden Globe Awards, as well co-hosting Pre ShowArrivals shows at The Emmys. Other co-hosting credits include the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
